Lets be serious, would you send your children back to a NJ school if you really believed that their life was dependent on other little kids being responsible for wearing their masks properly?
No of course not. That would be insane.
We have a hard time keeping kids clothed property, let alone in an unnecessary mask that makes it difficult to breathe. Of course the kids will take it down or rip it off. This protocol is doomed for failure.
Clinical trials have been unable to prove that the mask protects your kid. The FDA EUA status is based on an idea called source control.
“the prevention of the transmission of infection through a person’s respiratory secretions which are produced when speaking, coughing or sneezing. “
But here’s the kicker, all the little kids have to wear masks PROPERLY in order for them to work.
The CDC will tell you that proper mask wearing is key to preventing the most deadly virus in our lifetime. Children’s masks have to be checked to
“be sure that the masks fits snugly over the nose mouth and under chin and that there are no gaps around the side.”
So how many times a day is the teacher checking those masks? Do all those masks have that metal nose wire to stop the gaps around the nose? Are all the masks the correct thickness? And lets talk about lunch… the virus doesn’t spread while the kids are eating?
There are as many holes in Murphy’s plan to “keep your kids safe” as there are in that mask you are putting on your kids.
Good news is that your child’s life is not dependent on the responsibility of other little kids. This disease is not nearly as deadly to children as depression (suicide) or a back yard swimming pool (drowning).
At this point, over 30 times more school aged child (5-18) died from an accidental injury than COVID19. And 18 times more died from suicide than COVID19. Children under 4 are more likely to die from downing than COVID19. Interesting fact, no additional NJ children have died since since around March 2021 as far as I recall. The announcement of the delta variant was found in NJ on 7/1/2020, therefore no children have died from the Delta variant in NJ. In addition, children are unlikely to be affected by COVID19 as shown by the low rate of pediatric hospitalizations.
So what are we doing here? We are still forcing kids to do pandemic procedures when we don’t even follow this in our adult every day life and its the ADULTS that have a higher risk of death due to COVID19. Adults are still gathering in hoards of tens of thousands for concerts and events. Adults are still packed in casinos, bars, dance clubs and restaurants without masks. But our kids can’t live a mentally healthy, normal, daily life in a 25 student classroom.
Below is a snapshot of the state data 9/5/2021, the starting point before school. There were 281 outbreaks resulting in 1263 infections last school year. I suspect we will almost double this number in 3-4 months during the cold and flu season this year. What will Governor murphy do when the casedemic is out of control from over testing and he has eliminated remote instruction?
But wait!!! The over-testing in the NJ schools gets worse starting October 26th… Get ready for the massive case load that will occur with random testing of asymptomatic, healthy kids. I feel like Murphy is just trying to manufacture a casedemic crisis here right before the election. If I was going to teach a class on “How to Lie with Statistics” this would be the topic I would cover… you ramp up testing of asymptomatic people and pretend there is an increase in infection.
This isn’t a childhood disease, kids have a near zero death rate. Oh and, remember all that hype about the delta variant putting kids in hospitals? Turned out to be false reporting. SHOCKER!! Delta variant wasn’t any more harmful to kids than earlier variants. So what is the point of the state testing kids that aren’t sick?
Meanwhile, the NJEA was partying it up at the equity ball this weekend while every day kids and teachers are treated like they have leprosy.
Hello Nikki,
People will put up with a lot of nonsense in order to be able to put their kid in someone's else's care "for free" for 6 hours a day; 8 or more hours if you pay for afterschool care or if afterschool care is heavily subsidized (along with free lunches etcetera).
After Younkin's victory in Virginia, I saw a clip from CNN where a consultant declares that the Democrat party is the real party working in the interests of parents, because (and I lightly paraphrase) Democrats fully fund schools, and Democrats keep schools open so parents can depend on being able to drop their kids off at school so they can go to work every day!
So, they are the party of working parents... right? Where both parents work, or there is a single working parent, perhaps most nobly: a single mother.
It's hard to pull your kids from school over mask requirements when you "work outside the home", and working outside the home, and being able to have children without at least one other adult signed up to help you raise them, has been the overarching goal of the feminist movement these past 50 years.
so, the "other adult signed up to help" is teachers in the schools. And the people who run the schools are pretty much all registered Democrats, and they require masks until further notice -- until the further goals of the-party-working-in-the-interests-of-parents have been met.
Kids need to go in w/o masks, the whole school needs to protest. Need a protest in Trenton. He should be talking about stopping the mask mandate, not making it worse!
