Masks didn't do a darn thing to prevent infection in New Jersey
Right before the first day of school in New jersey, I took a snapshot of the State dashboard KNOWING that they would erase it so that we could not compare years. The NJDOH doesn’t have to hold itself accountable when they don’t collect the data to make comparisons.
There has been a 47% increase in school outbreaks this school year, compared to last, and the year isn’t even half way through. How can NJDOH or Governor murphy say their mitigation strategies even have an effect? In the school year 20/21 there were 1,263 cases from school outbreaks. This year, with only 4 months into the school year, we are at a 2,365 cases from school outbreaks. And with the total of 217,674 of infections found within the schools in the 21/22 school year, do you know how many of those school aged children 5-17 died FROM COVID19 ? ZERO 0. NONE. NADA. Two children died FROM COVID19 in the 2020/2021 school year and those 2 children had existing comorbidities. Typically the death certificates favor a COVID death over others as shown by the cancer data year comparison. I just want to make it clear that there is a bias towards coding COVID19 as death which artificially increases the death rate. In addition, I make a distinction to say FROM COVID19 because the NJDOH likes to include people who died WITH COVID19 on their dashboard. Two very different metrics.
The entire point of these mitigation strategies were to prevent death, and in the 20 months of enacting these procedures there has been no measurable success attributed to the so called “swiss cheese” method.
If there is no success from this mitigation strategy after 2 years of its implementation and masks have side effects for kids, what are the Governor’s in the blue states doing here? Where is the NJDOH or CDC report outlining the strategies year to year to show how they have successfully mitigated the virus without causing additional harm to the students? They are conducting the largest clinical trial on our children without any IRB oversight, any attempts to engage in “best clinical practice”, informed consent from parents, or any tracking the adverse events. The adverse effects of masks are clear to every parent with a brain after 20 months of implication. Even parents who were mask gung ho last year are concerned about the continued mask use in school. Note that none of these articles have an actual study to attribute these harms directly to mask wearing. That’s because they aren’t conducing the experiment with masks in schools; that is what Governor Murphy is doing along with the NJDOH. They are suppose to be collecting the harmful effects of their mitigation strategy. Which makes me ask the question, how can they get away with this?
