I don’t play games when it comes to my child’s physical and mental well being. Sent my withdraw letter today. I would never encourage you to do something that I wouldn’t do myself.
Dear Principal XXXXX,
It is with a heavy heart I am writing to you to tell you that my son, Nick will not be attending XXXX School for the 2021-2022 year. He is very disappointed he will not be going back for another year. I want to be clear that it is the current mask mandate that caused this decision. The Governor’s mandates on masking on children are unacceptable, unnecessary, and damaging to children. As a clinical trial biostatistician, I cannot allow Nick to wear an experimental product, such as masks, that have not been through clinical trial testing on children, without proof of safety or effectiveness.
I just want to let you know that children are not at risk for death or long term damage to COVID19. Three (3) school aged children (5-18) in the state of New Jersey died from COVID from March 2020 to today September 1st 2021. During that time more children died from drowning in back yard swimming pools, 14 times more died from homicide and 13 times more died from suicide. There has not been an increase in child hospitalization as the news has suggested, it is lower now than it was in the beginning of the summer. What is true, is that depression in children has increased from these pandemic measures as well as the number of suicide attempts and drug over doses. Healthy children do not die from this disease, this is proven by the 18 months of pandemic data collected all over the world. This is a disease that is deadly to adults and patients with cormorbidites, not healthy children. Healthy children are more at risk of accidentally injury and mental health mortality than COVID19 mortality.
My child, like all children, need to have a normal childhood without the burden of the pandemic placed on his shoulders. I’m not going to sacrifice his physical and mental well being for the current superstition revolving around masks and the panicked whims of the government, for virus that is endemic in the population. I can provide him with a normal life in our homeschool co-op that we attended last year. Your school cannot provide a safe and sane experience because the Governor Murphy’s reckless mandates.
I wish you the best and hope that these mandates will end soon.
